CHM Group update Dublin City cycle lane with new Horizont delineators

More than 60,000 people travel to work by bicycle in Dublin every single day. Both their safety and that of motorists is paramount. That’s why CHM Group is so pleased with the Horizont cycle lane delineators that have just been installed (with the help of Solar Gates) within a Dublin council district in the south of this thriving modern city.

More than 100m of the truly mobile and flexible system was set down in Dun Laoghaire. The unique ARS anti-slip system sticks like glue to the road with no need for any typically damaging installation methods.

The pop-up, German-engineered cycle lane delineator system is a real game changer that’s ready to be installed permanently if required.

This system is used in conjunction with Leitboys. They are locked into place by two guide grooves and the locking cam in the push-in device of the guide curb itself. It does not come loose even when a car drives directly over it as it springs back into shape automatically.

The Cycle Lane System is an award-winning product in Germany. The Guide Curb is the only European-manufactured weighted delineator system approved for use on all European road types including high speed and was a Eurobike Award winner 2023 and German Design Award winner 2024.

Damien McPadden, Operations Manager at CHM, said:

““We are very satisfied with the performance of the new cycle lane installation from a contractor’s perspective, which were delivered in a controlled, efficient manner.

All three locations were completed within a two-day programme, resulting in minimal disruption and a highly cost-effective outcome.

Based on the installation methodology and overall performance, I am confident this system is suitable for wider deployment in future schemes.”

Made from 100% recycled plastic, these instant sectional delineators are simple to install and fully flexible, meaning they’re impact proof too.

The anti-slip design means they simply bend in the direction of the road when driven over.
